Our Vision
O Foods Ltd is passionate about oats and strives to be the innovation partner throughout the supply chain from farmers to consumers. We want to be the preferred oat ingredient supplier by collaborating to create value and sustained
growth for all stakeholders.
Our History
O Foods is a wholly owned subsidiary of Paterson GlobalFoods (PGF). With a deep history in Canadian agriculture dating back to 1908, PGF understands that continuous improvement is necessary for sustainable growth. For decades PGF has sourced oats and today it includes a significant identity preserved (IP) program for milling oats. Growing oats to meet specific customer needs is a clear demonstration of our commitment to collaboration and innovation.
Our Location
After extensive review, Winnipeg North has been selected as the site location due to the proximity to high quality milling oats, efficient transportation, and access to skilled labor. The mill will be incorporated into an existing PGF site that includes a strategic grain elevator and research farm where oat variety trials are conducted. The site is currently serviced by 3 rail companies (CN, CP, and BNSF) and has ample options for dry van shipments into the US.
Our Mill
The O Foods mill will be 100% dedicated to oat milling and we have partnered with Buhler on the process flow, equipment selection and automation. Combining upgrades to proven processes with new technology will enable us to meet the dynamic needs of the food industry. Process automation will provide live data through user-defined dashboards to make the most efficient operational adjustments for quality and consistency.
Our People
The passion to continuously improve is core to our people at O Foods and PGF. Training is the foundation to ensure our employees fully understand their activities. From there, we develop a culture where people are encouraged to bring forward improvement opportunities. The same approach is taken with our farmers and customers. We collaborate, innovate, and execute to meet the needs of all stakeholders.
